A native of East Greenwich, Rhode Island, Ms. Gildea began her training at Rhode Island Ballet Arts Academy, with continued study at Festival Ballet Providence. In 2003, she was accepted into the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School. In addition to her training at Festival Ballet Providence and the Royal Winnipeg ballet school, she attended summer programs at The National Ballet School of Canada, Pacific Northwest Ballet, the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School and Orlando Ballet School. While attending Butler University, Ms. Gildea participated in two summer seminars in St. Petersburg Russia. As a member of Butler Ballet, she performed a variety of roles in The Nutcracker (Flower soloist, Snow Queen, and Sugar Plum Fairy). She was also cast in Butler Ballet’s Performance of Cloven Kingdom, a work choreographed by noted choreographer Paul Taylor. She graduated from Butler University in December of 2008 with a B.A. in Dance Pedagogy.
