Kristy Anne DuBois grew up in New Jersey and studied at the South Jersey Ballet Theatre. After high school, she moved to NYC to study at The Ailey School in conjunction with the Fordham University BFA program. While there she had the opportunity to learn Horton, Graham, and West African dance techniques. Ms DuBois then accepted a traineeship with the Richmond Ballet, and performed in Valse Fantasie, Giselle, Sleeping Beauty, Midsummer Night’s Dream, and The Nutcracker. She moved to Newport, Rhode Island and spent five years dancing with the Island Moving Company. While there, Ms. DuBois created the role of Lucy in Miki Ohlsen’s critically acclaimed ballet Dracula. She also danced in works by Colin Connor, Scott Putman, Carol Somers, and Colleen Cavanaugh. In 2011, Ms. DuBois moved to Boston to dance with Jose Mateo’s Ballet Theatre, and had the opportunity to dance principal roles in many of Mr. Mateo’s original ballets as well as the Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker. Ms. DuBois’ dance achievements include being named a “Finalist” in the 2011 Sibiu International Ballet and Contemporary Dance Competition in Sibiu, Romania. Ms. DuBois is excited to begin her third season as an Artist with Festival Ballet Providence.
