Originally from Midland, Texas Mrs. Chapman Mejeur grew up dancing at Midland Festival Ballet under Susan Clark. She attended summer programs including Milwaukee Ballet, Joffrey New York, Alonzo King Lines, and Nederlands Dans Theater and was a regional finalist in Youth American Grand Prix. She danced seasons with Nashville Ballet 2 and BalletMet in Columbus, OH before joining Festival Ballet Providence in Rhode Island for three seasons. During her time there she danced the first Pas De Trois from Balanchine’s Agon and the Conductor in Viktor Plotnikov’s Sharps and Flats and worked in the Educational Outreach Department. After marrying her husband, a Naval JAG Corps Officer, she moved to Virginia to dance with Virginia Ballet Theater and Todd Rosenlieb Modern Dance. There she performed the role of Titania in Bottom’s Dream and danced in Erick Hawkin’s New Moon. She has created choreographic works for Festival Ballet Providence, Bluebird Uncaged, The C Project, the Todd Rosenlieb Dance and Virginia Ballet Theater Ensembles, as well as The Berkshire Choreography Project which presented her work The Elements at the Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival in 2017. Louisa is excited to return for her fourth season with Festival Ballet Providence.
